Ft Yates, North Dakota, gets about 1-2 patients per hour. They have a 2 bed inpatient that only keeps the most stable of “observation only” patients. Anything serious is stabilized and shipped out by air or ground to Bismarck, ND. There are no OB doctors on staff. It is very rare but if there was a baby delivered, the physician would have to be able to deal with the baby after being born, then stabilizing the mother and baby for transport as Pediatrics are also limited. There is 1 ER Physician during the day, and 1 ER Physician at night.
12hr block schedules, 7-14 per month, or EOM!
You would fly into Bismarck ND, drive 80 miles South to Standing Rock ND. Once per month or Every other month!
